“This owner-run Fort Worth shop at 3208 Altaview St has an active TDLR A/C license 33709 and an A+ BBB rating with accreditation since 2017, lists an $89 diagnostic fee, offers free second opinions on repairs, says its techs have no sales quota, and quotes a customer who was told a capacitor would do and to wait before buying a new unit.”
“This long-running local company at 9105 White Settlement Rd has an active TDLR license 23521, an A+ BBB rating with accreditation since 2013 and a business start date of 2002, and many reviews call owner Sonny Pewitt honest and fair about whether to repair or replace.”
“This Fort Worth company at 3625 Lawnwood St has an active TDLR license 126828 and an A+ BBB rating with accreditation since 2024, and it was founded on the idea that technicians should fix problems instead of selling upgrades the way commission-paid techs do, but it has only been open about 3 years.”
“It has a strong free second-opinion policy and an active TDLR license 148830, but it only started in July 2025 and BBB rates it A- (not accredited) because it hasn't been open long.”
“It is BBB A+ (not accredited) with 1 complaint in 3 years and an active TDLR license 54319, but it is a larger volume operation and I found no no-commission or second-opinion policy.”
“It says its techs are not paid on commission and has an active license 26616, but its license and BBB file (A+, accredited) are in Garland in Dallas County, so it is not a local Fort Worth shop.”
“It has salaried techs and free second opinions, but its service-area list centers on Irving, Dallas and the mid-cities, not Fort Worth, and I did not check its license or BBB.”
“It offers free second opinions, but it is a large regional chain, and I did not check its license or BBB.”
“It has a long family history (since 1962) and the Hobson licenses are active in Parker County, but the AC Genius name did not come up in TDLR and I did not check its BBB file myself.”
“I only saw a search snippet from its LinkedIn page, which reads as Dallas-focused, and I checked nothing else.”

“Its Fort Worth page specifically offers repair-versus-replacement second opinions and explains the diagnostic-fee policy.”
“Its Fort Worth guide weighs age, repair size and repair frequency rather than treating age alone as decisive.”
“Its Fort Worth page describes root-cause diagnosis and explaining the available repair options before work.”
“It offers repair-versus-replace guidance, but less explicit second-opinion detail than the first choice.”
“It publishes repair prices but is based farther from Fort Worth and same-day availability is not automatic.”
“Its price guide is useful context but not a Fort Worth-specific second-opinion offering on the reviewed page.”
We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in September 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.
