What each of us actually does
Moz Local syncs your listings to 90+ directories, monitors their health and reviews, and adds Local Grid for map pack rankings by location. Lite is $20 a month, or $199 billed yearly. Preferred, at $30 or $299 yearly, adds review responding, review sentiment, social posting to Google and Facebook and competitor analysis. Elite, at $40 or $399 yearly, adds more social channels, reporting and the Listings AI add on, which costs $14 a month on the other plans. Enterprise is custom for 50 or more locations.
Picked by Agents monitors the questions that decide your customers' choice, on the assistants in our research network, including Meta Muse and Instinct. Monitoring is $79 a month, month to month. Each monthly pick report quotes the assistant, names the business it chose and records the reason it gave. White glove programs, where we make the changes, are optional.
Where the two approaches part
- 01
Listings vs the answer
Moz Local makes sure your name, address and hours agree everywhere. We check what the assistant does with all that when a customer asks who to call.
- 02
Map pack rank vs the assistant's pick
Local Grid shows where you rank on the map. An assistant often names one or two businesses, and it may not follow the map order. We record which ones.
- 03
Directory data vs your own site
BrightLocal found 93% of the domains AI cites for local searches are business websites, and 90% of first picks in our Picks Index came from the business's own site. Listings matter, and the deciding fact is usually on your site or missing from it.
When Moz Local is the better choice
If your listings are a mess, reviews go unanswered or you manage many locations, start with Moz Local or a tool like it. It costs less than we do and fixes a real problem. If your listings are already clean and you want to know whether the assistants name you, we fit, and the two work well together.
Switching from Moz Local
You do not need to switch. Keep Moz Local running your listings. Bring us the locations you manage, the keywords in Local Grid and the competitors you watch, and we turn them into the questions a customer asks in each place. Each location comes from you on the report form.
What is new is the output. The free first report shows which business each assistant named on those questions, quoted, with the reason. That becomes the baseline your monthly reports are measured against.

Questions we get asked
Is Picked by Agents a Moz Local alternative?
- Not really. Moz Local manages listings and reviews. We monitor what the AI assistants say when your customers ask. Most businesses that care about both should run both.
Will accurate listings get me picked by AI?
- They help, since assistants check that your details agree. In our Picks Index the deciding fact usually came from the business's own site, like a price, an opening or a service area.
Can we use both?
- Yes. We ask for no exclusivity. Clean listings from Moz Local and a site that answers the buying question work together.
Where do your facts about Moz Local come from?
- Its Moz Local product page and pricing page, read in October 2026. The 93% is from BrightLocal's published research, and the 90% and 32% from our Picks Index and live sample. If Moz changes its plans, tell us and we will correct this page.
