Pool builders

Pool builder marketing for the builders AI assistants pick

A custom pool is months of research before the first design visit. More of that research now runs through an AI assistant, and it names about three builders with a likely price for each. The builders who publish real costs get named. We make sure you are one of them.

Named by the assistants in 90 days or we work free

The pool starts as a question to an assistant.

We asked an assistant the question homeowners ask. We want an inground pool built in Scottsdale next spring, budget around $90,000, find the three best builders and what they would likely charge. It read builder sites, cost guides, review sites and the state contractor board, and came back with three names, a likely price for each, and a list of builders it rejected and why.

That is the shortlist a homeowner takes into design meetings. A builder that is not on it has to win the customer back from three competitors who already have a number in the homeowner's head.

“The builder that published its real average cost was the one the assistant could quote.”

What the assistant rewarded, and what it passed on

In that run the top pick was a builder whose own report gave its average cost across several hundred pools the year before, with typical prices for medium and large builds. The assistant called it unusual transparency and used those numbers to answer the budget question. The second pick had a cost guide with scope spelled out, pool size, interior finish, decking, permits, and a timeline from consultation to swimming.

The builders it rejected had a generic range with no comparable scope, starting packages with variable finals, or a record it could not corroborate. A second assistant given the same question weighed reviews more heavily and dropped some large builders over complaint patterns. Both relied on the builders' own sites for price and scope.

  1. 01

A cost guide with real numbers

Your own averages, by size and finish, from pools you actually built. Not an industry range copied from a national site.

  2. 02

    Scope spelled out

What the price includes and what adds to it. Spa, decking, automation, lot access, permits.

  3. 03

    A timeline

Weeks from design to swim, and when to start to be swimming by a given month. Assistants repeat this to homeowners planning a season.

  4. 04

A city page for where you build

The assistant was asked about Scottsdale. The picks had Scottsdale pages, and one named its HOA and design review experience.

  5. 05

A license the assistant can check

State license number and status in text. In our run the assistant could not confirm license status on the state site and said so.

What wins the pick for pool builders

Published cost guides and real averages. The homeowner's first question is almost always what will it cost for what I want, and the builder that answers with numbers from its own projects becomes the reference point for every other quote.

After price comes proof. Consistent reviews across Google and the review sites the assistants read, a clear warranty, and a record that matches what the site claims. Big builders do not win by size. In our runs the assistants passed on well known builders when the price or the reviews did not hold up.

What we do for a pool builder

  1. 01

    Run the real questions, monthly

Budget, size and city questions your buyers ask, through the assistants they use, against the builders who beat you. You see who got named and the reasons in the assistant's words.

  2. 02

Build the cost guide the assistant quotes

From your own project data, with scope and what moves the price. You approve every number.

  3. 03

Make the design consultation easy to request

A consultation path an assistant can see and complete. On Picked we tag AI-sourced inquiries so you see them in your own numbers.

  4. 04

Fix the profile and the review footprint

Google Business Profile, the review and directory sites the assistants read, license and warranty facts, all consistent.

  5. 05

    Keep measuring through the season

Pool research peaks before spring. We run the questions every month so you see where you stand when it counts.

Who this is for

Custom residential pool builders, from a single design center to a regional group with several showrooms. The buyers are homeowners with the income that uses assistants most. Pew found 66% of upper income adults use AI chatbots.

If you rely on referrals and a strong season, this is the channel that decides who gets the first call before a referral ever comes up.

Questions we get asked

If we publish our average cost, won't competitors undercut it?
The assistant is already comparing you. It compares the builders it can read. In our run the builder that published its own averages was the one the assistant used to answer the budget question. The ones with only a generic range were rejected.
Every pool is custom. What should the guide say?
Averages from your own builds by size and finish, what is included, and what adds cost. Spa, lot access, decking, automation and permits. Ranges are fine. The assistant needs something real to repeat.
Which assistants do you test?
The ones your buyers use, and more than one, because they weigh things differently. In our pool runs one assistant leaned on published costs and another on review patterns.
Is this only for large builders?
No. The assistants in our runs passed on some very large builders. A smaller builder with a clear cost guide and consistent reviews can be named ahead of them.
How is the guarantee measured?
We agree the questions, the cities and the assistants in writing, record a baseline, and run them repeatedly. If you are not being named within 90 days we keep working free until you are.
