Can I get a consultation next week?
A patient in Atlanta asks an assistant the question they would ask a friend who had it done. I want LASIK in Atlanta, find the three best places, what it costs, and whether I can get a consultation next week. The assistant opens practice sites, reads the cost pages, tries the scheduler, and answers with three names, a price and an honest note on availability.
That last part is where most practices lose. The assistant will not hand over the patient's name, email or date of birth to see your calendar. If your openings sit behind a form, it reports that it could not verify them, and moves on to a practice where it could.
“The one practice that showed its calendar without asking who you were was the smallest brand in the final three.”
What is costing LASIK practices the pick
We asked Meta Muse and Instinct the Atlanta question and read every reason they gave for naming or rejecting a practice.
- 01
A calendar behind a form
Two of the three finalists in one run gated their scheduler behind a ZIP and email, or a name, date of birth and phone. The assistant marked next-week availability as unverified for both.
- 02
No all-in price
Practices that showed only a monthly financing figure, or no per-eye price at all, were described through aggregator estimates instead of their own numbers.
- 03
Deal pricing that hides the real cost
A provider selling through voucher deals was rejected because the promotion obscured what the procedure would actually cost.
- 04
Pages that do not render
One practice with solid credentials was rejected partly because its cost figures would not load for the assistant and its consultation path was phone first.
- 05
LASIK as a side line
General eye care practices where LASIK was secondary and unpriced were passed over for practices that led with it.
What wins the pick in LASIK
The practice ranked first on evidence published an all-inclusive per-eye price covering exams, the procedure, follow-ups and an enhancement guarantee, with financing stated alongside. The practice ranked first on bookability showed a live consultation calendar, with real slots the next week, before asking for anything. Both were named. The practices that did neither were not.
So the recipe is short. An all-in price per eye, with what it includes. A consultation calendar an assistant can read without handing over personal data. Candidacy criteria stated plainly. Hours that match what the scheduler actually offers.
What we do for a LASIK practice
- 01
Run the patients' real questions, monthly
Cost, candidacy and consultation questions in each metro you serve, through the assistants patients use, against the practices that beat you. You see who got named and, in the assistant's own words, why.
- 02
Publish the all-in price
A per-eye price with inclusions, financing stated next to it, and every older or conflicting price page found and fixed.
- 03
Open the consultation calendar
Openings an assistant can see without a login or a form, and a request it can complete. On Picked we rebuild the path end to end and tag AI-sourced consults so you see them in your own numbers.
- 04
Fix the profile and the directories
Google Business Profile for each location and the directories the assistants cite, consistent with your site on hours, price and surgeons.
- 05
Stay inside the rules
Outcome claims in LASIK advertising are policed by the FTC, and the lasers are FDA approved devices with stated indications. We never publish a result promise or a claim your surgeons cannot support.
Who this is for
Independent and founder-led LASIK and refractive surgery practices, from one surgeon to a group with a dozen or more locations. The founding surgeon or the practice's marketing lead usually decides, and one decision covers every location.
If you already pay for leads, the assistant's shortlist is the channel where your price page and your calendar do the selling. Groups start with Portfolio, a 90 day pilot on up to three locations.
LASIK marketing as usual vs Picked by Agents
| LASIK marketing as usual | Picked by Agents | |
|---|---|---|
| Price on the site | A low hook price, or a form to learn the cost | An all-in per-eye price with what it includes |
| Consultation path | Scheduler behind name, email and date of birth | Openings an assistant can see before any personal data |
| What it measures | Leads and cost per consult | Whether the assistant named you, and why, every month |
| Where the patient decides | A search ad and a landing page | One answer that compares you with two other practices |
| Proof | A lead report | The assistant's own words, then AI-sourced consults in your call tracking |
| Price | Ad spend plus an agency retainer | $2,997 or $4,997 a month, month to month, guaranteed |
Questions we get asked
- Do LASIK patients really use AI assistants?
- They are the core users. Pew found 61% of adults aged 30 to 49 use an AI chatbot and 55% have used ChatGPT, up 14 points in a year. LASIK is elective, cash pay and researched over weeks, exactly the kind of decision people now hand to an assistant to compare.
- Why would we show our calendar before getting contact details?
- Because the assistant will not give them to you. It works for the patient and stops at any form that asks for personal data. In our Atlanta run, two of three finalists hid their openings that way and the assistant said it could not verify them. The practice with an open calendar was the one it could recommend for next week.
- Won't a published price attract shoppers?
- The assistant quotes a price for you either way, from an aggregator if you do not publish one. The practice ranked first on evidence in our run published an all-inclusive range per eye and was named for it. You decide the number and what it covers.
- How do you handle FDA and FTC rules?
- We treat them as fixed. No guaranteed outcomes, no claims about results your surgeons cannot document, and no statements about a laser beyond its approved use. Your team approves every page before it goes live.
- How is the guarantee measured?
- We agree the questions, the locations and the assistants in writing before we start, and record a baseline. We run them repeatedly so a lucky mention does not count. If you are not being named within 90 days we keep working free until you are. We guarantee being named, never procedure volume or revenue.

The report is free. It shows who they named for cost and consultation questions in your metro, and where they stopped on your site. Then we fix it, guaranteed.
