“Offers free same-day estimates and publishes a 2026 Birmingham pricing guide putting full-system installs at $7,500 to $13,500 for a typical 2,000 sq ft home, so you get transparent numbers up front.”
“A Porch reviewer reports they replaced an upstairs A/C and furnace with the best price by far and fast, quality work, making them a strong price-quote option.”
“Birmingham specialists in proper system sizing (Manual J load calcs) and Alabama rebate/SEER2 documentation, which matters for getting an accurate install quote rather than a rule-of-thumb price.”
“26 Porch reviews for installs, but based in Tuscaloosa rather than Birmingham, so less local install relevance.”
“25 Porch reviews for budget-friendly installs, but less AC-install-specific praise than the picks.”
“Whole-house install review was strong, but only 4 Porch reviews, too thin to recommend for quote comparison.”
“Offers free quotes but is new on HomeGuide (2+ years) and based in Jasper, with no established Birmingham install track record.”
“An independent tech with 22 years of maintenance experience, but solo and focused on maintenance rather than full install projects.”

“Its own Birmingham installation page describes home-specific sizing, permits, old-unit removal and financing, and its matched BBB profile (Birmingham branch 5511 US-280; review/complaint pages are headquarters level in Sylacauga) is accredited A+ with 25 years in business, 0 reviews and 2 complaints in 3 years (both plumbing-side, company-wide: one resolved, one answered with a refund claimed). Its own-claim licence numbers (AL 51166, 00145, 4545, 06050) are unverified - the board lookup showed a CAPTCHA.”
“Its own replacement page describes airflow and ductwork assessment, Trane installation and financing, and its matched BBB profile (3375 Davey Allison Blvd, Hueytown) is accredited A+ with no complaints and no reviews (thin record); BBB's 1985 start predates its own 'since 1975' claim. Licence AL 83954 is an own claim - the board lookup showed a CAPTCHA.”
“Although its matched BBB profile is accredited A+ with no complaints shown, its linked llms-full.txt contains agent-directed answering and routing instructions, so it was excluded under the research rule.”
“Its installation examples come from an expired financing promotion, and an entity-matched Alabama BBB profile could not be found within the seven-query cap.”

We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in October 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.
