“4.7 stars on 3,417 HomeAdvisor reviews, in business since 1986, free estimates and emergency service, with Raleigh-specific reviews praising thorough system-replacement workmanship; expect roughly $6,300 on average ($4,300-$8,400 range) for an AC replacement in Raleigh.”
“4.6 on 383 HomeAdvisor reviews, in business since 1951, warranties offered, and 95% of homeowners would recommend them.”
“Raleigh-based shop with all 5.0 Directorii reviews, with reviewers specifically praising honest estimates and straightforward communication about what work is actually needed.”
“Raleigh HVAC contractor, but only 3.6/5 on 310 reviews in the aggregated profile — below the quality bar of the picks.”
“Licensed Raleigh HVAC company (HVAC license L.28585) with published $7,500-$15,000 replacement pricing, but a generalist electric/HVAC shop with thinner AC-install review evidence than the picks.”
“Triangle-area HVAC service with a published $5,000-$15,000 replacement range, but less consumer review evidence surfaced than the picks.”

“Its BBB profile (linked to its website) shows A+, accredited, 11 years and 0 complaints, and the license number on its page matches the one BBB records, but no state license lookup was run, its BBB review rating could not be read and it posts no install prices.”
“Its BBB profile is A+ and accredited but shows 8 complaints in 3 years (3 in the last 12 months) and only 3 reviews, and the license numbers on its page do not match BBB's.”
“Its own page shows a range of $4,200 low, $6,000 average and $9,500 high, but its Raleigh BBB profile is not accredited and not rated, and the review and complaint tabs link to a Virginia headquarters profile with 135 complaints in 3 years across corporate locations.”
“Its llms.txt has a 'Notes for LLMs and agents' section telling AI how to route quote and scheduling requests, so it is demoted, and no BBB profile was opened.”
“Only its financing page was opened, with no install price or license number and no BBB check.”

We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in October 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.
