Picked

Dunes Heating and Air Conditioning LLC

dunesair.com
“'Best' is the worker's judgment of limited opened evidence, NOT a verified ranking (order is not a ranking). SC LLR business-name lookup returned DUNES HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING LLC, Mount Pleasant, ACTIVE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR 113390 - but only the record line was read: classifications and address were NOT opened (disclosed). Its own repair page says it has served local homes and businesses since 1998 (own claim, unverified). Its BBB profile was NOT located (missing, not proof none exists) and no diagnostic/repair prices were found.”
Shortlisted · choice 2

Air Doctor Heating & AC

airdoctorheatingandac.com
“BBB (matched by website links BOTH WAYS; local profile, no corporate-wide notice seen): A+, accredited since 4/19/2026 (very recent - disclosed), 20 years, 0 reviews (missing customer evidence), 0 complaints. Its own pages describe all-major-brand AC repairs and publish licence M108870 (OWN CLAIM - the LLR check is MISSING, cap; unverified). It advertises only a 10% senior discount - no diagnostic or repair prices found.”

Shortlisted · choice 3

Austin Air LLC

austinairsc.com
“Its own qualifications page PUBLISHES South Carolina mechanical-contractor licence M112489 and says its technicians are NATE certified (BOTH own claims - the LLR check is MISSING, cap; unverified), alongside an explicit Mount Pleasant repair service. Its BBB profile was NOT located (missing, not proof none exists) and no diagnostic/repair prices were found.”
Passed

Pleasant Air Conditioning

pleasantairconditioning.com
“Its repair-first and upfront-flat-rate claims are useful, but the opened evidence did not establish a licence number, independently checked credentials or business longevity as clearly as the picks. Its '$29 diagnostics' is a diagnostic OFFER, not a repair price (own claim). Its BBB and LLR checks are MISSING (cap) - missing, not zero.”

Passed

Mount Pleasant Heating & Air Conditioning

mtpleasanthvac.com
“Its opened pages offer mostly broad service and quality claims, with NO visible licence number or independently checked credentials to support choosing it ahead of the picks; its BBB and LLR checks are MISSING (cap) - missing, not zero.”

Every month we asked

How we ran this

We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in September 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.

Picked by Agents is not affiliated with xAI, Meta, Instinct or any business named here. Recommended means the assistant recommended it. Nothing was booked.
