Stoudenmire Heating & Air Conditioning

stoudenmireheating.com
“'Best' is the worker's judgment of limited opened evidence, NOT a verified ranking (order is not a ranking). SC LLR record #3262, Active Mechanical Contractor - the SAME number appears on its own site footer (the only pick whose site shows its number). BBB (matched by address 1516 Barnwell St; single-business profile, not corporate-wide): A+, NOT accredited, 67 years, 0 reviews, 0 complaints - zero reviews is no positive evidence (disclosed). Own claims (24/7/365, NATE-certified) unverified; its '$25 off any AC repair' promo EXPIRED 9/30/26 - not treated as current (disclosed).”

“SC LLR record #3835, Active Mechanical Contractor, West Columbia. BBB (3220 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, matched to its own site footer; reached via the Carolina Comfort search results page rather than its own search - disclosed): A+, accredited since 1991, 35 years, 0 reviews, 0 complaints - zero reviews is no positive evidence. Its own 'family and veteran owned since 1991' and 24/7 are unverified claims.”

Carolina Comfort, Inc

carolinacomfortsc.com
“It is the only pick that PUBLISHES a diagnostic price (SCOPED own-page figure): $99 diagnostic, quote before work, owe only the diagnostic fee if declining (own claim). SC LLR: CAROLINA COMFORT INC #104545, Active Mechanical Contractor, Columbia - but matched by NAME ONLY among 11 returned records; similarly named, apparently unrelated entities exist (confirm which one - disclosed) and the classification filter was NOT set, so the specific AC classification was not checked. BBB (matched by name and site link only - the profile shows only 'Columbia, SC 29212' and a Visit Website button): accredited since 2008, 34 years, 6 reviews (first seen 5 stars; OVERALL AVERAGE NOT CAPTURED - disclosed), rating letter NOT confirmed, 1 complaint in 3 years with an owner reply shown (disclosed).”

Cool Care Heating, Air, Plumbing & Refrigeration

coolcarehvac.com
“Only its own page was opened: it claims fully licensed, 24/7, two decades in business and 'paid by the hour and not through commissions', but gives NO licence number, and neither BBB nor LLR was checked for it (7-query cap - missing, not zero-record results).”

Every month we asked

How we ran this

We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in September 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.

Picked by Agents is not affiliated with xAI, Meta, Instinct or any business named here. Recommended means the assistant recommended it. Nothing was booked.
