We asked Meta Muse and Instinct this exact question in October 2026. Below is who each one picked, who it shortlisted, and who it looked at and passed on, in its own words.

“5.0 from 24 Google reviews and repeatedly recommended by Trabuco Canyon homeowners on Angi, a trusted first quote for a Southern Orange County install running $5,000-$12,000+.”
“Southern Orange County contractor (Laguna Niguel) open 24/7 that provides detailed upfront estimates after a home evaluation, a strong second quote with Manual J sizing.”
“Family-owned, award-winning Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer serving Orange County since 1980, a solid third quote from 4.2 miles away in Lake Forest.”
“4.1 from 9 reviews and open 24/7, but thinner installation track record than the picks.”

“Family-owned since 1999 per its site, BBB accredited with A+, 21 years and no complaints, an active California license, and a dedicated Trabuco Canyon AC page, though BBB shows no reviews.”
“Tustin-based Bryant dealer listing Trabuco Canyon-area service, with an active license, no BBB complaints and 5 of 5 from 8 BBB reviews, but it is not BBB accredited and its larger review counts are self-reported.”
“Active license and published price ranges, but its review claims are self-reported and its BBB listing is under a different spelling, so it could not be confirmed as the same business.”
“The site shows no license number, address or history, so the business could not be identified.”
“Generic install copy with no visible prices, license or review detail to verify.”
“Used only for a price guide; it is based in Huntington Beach and service to Trabuco Canyon was not confirmed.”
We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in October 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.
