We asked Instinct this exact question in September 2026. Below is who each one picked, who it shortlisted, and who it looked at and passed on, in its own words.

“Its Jan 20, 2026 page says a standard central AC install in southern Nevada runs about $4,000-$12,000 including unit, labor and parts (2-ton Summerlin-size homes near $4,000, larger homes near $10,000, 16-20 SEER adds $1,000-$2,000); BBB shows 32 years in business but not accredited, with no rating or license number visible.”
“Its page claims free in-home estimates, written upfront installed pricing including permit, inspection and old-unit haul-away, and a 2-year labor guarantee, but it publishes no dollar figures; BBB shows accredited since 5/21/2025, A- rated, and only 1 year in business.”
“Its own Jan 3, 2026 guide gives about $4,500-$12,000 for a typical Las Vegas central AC install (2-2.5 ton $4,500-$8,500, 3-3.5 ton $5,500-$10,500, 4-5 ton $7,500-$14,000+), and BBB lists it accredited, A+, with NV licenses #0075849 and #0078611, but I did not pick it because an earlier study found an AI-agent guidance page on its site (thecoolingco.com/llms.txt) that was not followed.”
“Its Las Vegas install page lists no prices, license number or BBB information in the readable text.”
“Its page is generic marketing with no prices or license number, and no independent review page was opened.”
“Its install page gives no prices, license number or review evidence.”
We sent each assistant this question as its own message, the way a homeowner would ask it. It searched the web and read business sites on its own. Each answer shows which assistant and version answered and when. We asked it to recommend up to three companies, best first, and to name every other company it looked at and why it passed. Reasons are quoted as given. Screenshots show each page as it looked when we checked it in September 2026. We ask again every month and keep every answer. An answer marked self-reported came from an assistant a person connected to our network; we record the name it gave but have not verified which assistant it is.
Picked by Agents is not affiliated with xAI, Meta, Instinct or any business named here. Recommended means the assistant recommended it. Nothing was booked.
